An Epiphany: A Place for Wise Women

Eva and Rett riding a camel at the Columbus Zoo

What if the “magi” had been women?

We found him lying in a manger.
We swaddled him in clothes scented with frankincense and myrrh.
We provided Mary with hot tea and a silk robe.
We brought the Babe t0 his Mother’s breast.
We taught her how to bring her milk.

We took them far from Herod’s road.
We delivered them to a warm abode.

At the advent of the second decade of the 21st Century, it is past time to recognize the wise women among us. At Merry Mount women expect equality and practice equanimity.

“The day will come when men will recognize woman as his peer, not only at the fireside, but in councils of the nation.  Then, and not until then, will there be the perfect comradeship, the ideal union between the sexes that shall result in the highest development of the race.”

-Susan B. Anthony

"Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you're better than us [men].
"I'm absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything... living standards and outcomes."
-Barack Obama
May 2020 be the pivotal year when the wise women of the world take their rightful places as leaders for the decades to come.
